Open "System": Start > Control Panel > System |
|

Click the "Advanced" tab |
|
|
|
|
Click "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery" |
|
|
|
|
Click "Edit" under "System Startup" to open the boot.ini file in Notepad |

|
|
Find the text: /noexecute= |
|
|
|
|
Update "/noexecute=" to: /noexecute=AlwaysOff |
|
|
|
|
Save > Close Notepad > Restart the PC |
|
|
| How-to Verify that DEP is Disabled |
|
|
|
|
Open "System": Start > Control Panel > System |
|
|
|
|
Click the "Advanced" tab |
|
|
|
|
Click "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery" |
|
|
|

The DEP settings should be unavailable |
